I must say that I've found the judging to be much better this year - or maybe the entries are just getting better. Lots of memorable ones around, even if the robots and cyborgs (which I personally don't care much for) still persist. I think a problem will always be that some are technically amazing, others are simpler but more stylish or pleasing to the eye. I'm nothing short of amazed at Molotov/Slipgatecentral's entry and looking at it just makes me want to start modeling something, but I'll be remembering entries like Katzeimsack's of foreverending's years down the road.
Anyway, I wish it were DomWar time again already. I feel inspired! Not only a congratulations to the artists, but also a thank-you to them is appropriate here .
Personally, I think AimBiz deserved to rank somewhere in the top 25. I was bummed to see he wasn't on the list.
Yeah, my thoughts on that are definitely up there for all to see...... I'm not complaining by any means, i'm happy overall, i was just hopeful for him to get something within the 25 as well.

Congrats everyone ! I'm really happy katze's entry is higher up this year, well deserved! Especially since that lion guy from last year ended up not even in the top 20 i think, and I felt that was one of the only entries really standing out from the rest .
From a lot of the 2D ones i'm getting the same feeling as others here, I'm just scrolling over them since they're all the same "queen of elements" kinda thing filled with details but no charm to it . I mean they are very cool and I wish i could draw like that, but I just wish there was more focus on creating something really unique and appealing.

I'm still mystified as to why Spark's entry wasn't even in the top 75 though. That orange demon was my favourite character and I really had that pinned as being in the top 5 for sure.
Foreverrendering's is definitely badass...the model looks great and seeing the textures in that turnaround look beautiful. I try to stay away from using that word too loosely...but man, awesome job.

I'm a bit disappointed that the top 25 2d entries didn't have more variation. There are many entries I feel should have been in there but didn't make it.

Congratulations man. Also terrific record in the 'making of videos'. One thing I am curious about, you used symmetry, did you do that to lower your polycount, or was that just to save texture space? You mentioned something about it in the videos and indeed right to the end we could see just one arm and leg. If it was for polycount how does that work?

I"m so glad we got some ACTUAL creative entries in the top 10 this year. no more of this, Doom/Quake/Unreal art direction only.
The owl one was my favorite after Slipgate's. Glad to see it up there.
