I've been doing Cesar Dacol Jr's online ZBrush masterclass for the past few weeks. It's got a ways to go before I decide whether the whole thing was worth my money or not, but I've learnt plenty and Cesar is quite a good tutor.
I can give you a run down on the structure of the class if you're interested.
Anyway, here's what I'm working on:
I'm using the Oddworld Inhabitants games, particularly the Grubb characters from Stranger as a stepping off point for the background story (something Cesar requested) - a tribal amphibious fellow living by a river that has been damned and become polluted. From there he developed towards the archetypal African person afflicted with acute malnutrition appearance.
The model is currently at the stage where it's ready for retopo so I can get some nicer geometry to work with when I get to detailing.
Crit if you'd like and give me a yell if you want to know more about the class.

I'm really curious about this zb workshop, keep posting, wanna ses how it works out for you.
Here's a p.o. I did before you posted the sculpt, I could kind of see a Daffy Duck in there, couldn't resist.

Cum. Teehe.
Looks good so far. It would be nice to have some closer shots to see highres details, especially in the face.
Are you going to be doing a low poly bake of this; rigging; ect?
As far as instructors go, you'd be hard pressed to find a better one for teaching ZBrush than Cesar. Definitely a good move getting into his course
EDIT: There. I hope that's an improvement.
I'll get some more images up shortly.
As for where the model goes from here, the class is set up to follow the typical development of a character for film (hence the T-Pose rather than the relaxed pose popular in games). I believe we're working up to a complete posed, high poly character. That said, I'm planning to save out my retopo'd mesh and should be able to make a game-ready character without too many problems.
That was said half-jokingly, don't sweat it :poly124:
It's fine detailing time.
Not really happy with the nose. Not sure exactly what I want to do about it though.
He's just posed using transpose master. Oh, and I've already gone back and fixed that odd bulge on the right side of his belly.
Pretty happy with how he's turned out so far. The class comes highly recommended for anyone who's sitting at an intermediate level of Zbrush skill and wants to get better skills and a better understanding of how the whole thing works quickly.
That's still just a diffuse. I added a pearl matcap for extra sexy.
I'll reiterate my recommendation of the course. It's worth every penny.
