Photoshop CS3... Obj importer and 3D viewer

I was messing around with CS3 today at work and I was trying to import one of my 3D meshes into it so i could come up with a cool new background. BUT...

when i tried to open the obj & 3ds i got an error saying "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document" SO...

I went looking online to double check i was doing it right and i found a tutorial on Lyndia.com and everything was the same.

Anyone else have this problem and find a solution to it?

try exporting with quads, tris + UV coordinates
its buggy but it should work in many cases
