Looks good, I really dig the design of the front. Not sure what the black blob is but I'm not really feeling it, I think it'd look better with something that went up to meet the back part behind the seat. Can't decide if I like the skis or not, on the one hand it makes sense that the bikes should stand upright on the ground when the engine isn't running, but combined with the black blob it's kind of looking like a snowmobile. Maybe you could have the two front tips hook around to connect in a U-shape?
Nice concept, not sure about what is going on with the skis and or black blob as mentioned by Zack, but I really dig the bodywork. Looking forward to the model!
I think it'll turn out best if you rough in larger forms and patterns for that engine compartment and then try filling in the gaps, right now it seems a bit chaotic. Using repeated elements, like three cylinders in a row or something, will help it feel more engine-like too I think.
I agree with ZackF - Ive done sorta similar things before, and I have had the best results when I place a few big components, and then tie them together with pipes and wires and such - you have a great design going on here tho, I really like the meaty proportions of the front end - makes it feel like its really got a spectacular motor in it.
Now thats one sexy engine compartment! Looks great man. I have a few suggestions. Try angling the side mirrors back a bit more like they were in the very first rough model, it fits better with the angle of the windshield. And what if you have the handle bars coming out of like spheres that would rotate around in that socket, instead of the little soft cone thing you have there now. I think the grips in general could be a little thicker, they are like twigs at the moment. I look forward to seeing how you detail the rest of the body.
nice work dude with the engine there! Only thng that bothers me is the thickness of the handles...right now they feel too thin. Everything else is pretty impressive.
Oh man this looks so cool, glad you changed it to this better engine, looks fantastic now. I agree with coldhands, more interesting handles and bigger and fatter please!
And don't remove that front bumper thingy that hangs underneath it, I like things like that
I love how this one is going. It just looks mean and powerful with such a big engine. Really cool! Some great detail in that engine, god luck with the normal maps!
Good stuff man, nice to see the progress! Engine looks great.
One comment (personal taste ofc) I really dig the more 'semi-flat' design that is featured in the concept, and I think you are stepping away from that a little bit, as it looks to be getting more curvy. Might be the angles / wip / concept evolving. Anyways just personal taste. Awesome job going here nonetheless!
Well, .. you are doing a good job on 'sculpting' out that engine! Unless you have a secret clipboard with concept on that : P I guess it is all about the goals you set and which parts of the concept you define as beeing 'rigid'. If for example what I mentioned is not identified as a key part of the look and feel that the object needs to have then its all good right? And since you are beeing your own art director on this, .. you're home free! You might have looked at the initial concept and made a (conscious) choice to let it evolve into a more rounded look (could be many reasons here) It could also have 'just' evolved like this, which can also be good.
Haha, I can Imagine you sitting at the desk and people trying to forcefully take away your clipboard : P Office riot! lol
Looking awesome man, like the coloring and details. Calamari logo also very nice. Icing on the cake to nail that racer look. Also nice match since it is a water racer.
Looking hot man. I couldnt put my finger on it last night when we were chatting, but it hit me this morning. It reminds me of some Ben Mauro stuff. Looking forward to seeing it progress.
i would say cubemaps should be allowed - it's part of the shader, not part of the asset textures... plus they'll make these bikes look extra good, and banning things that make stuff look good would be silly
Love the progress Teriyaki! I'm finally on Polycount, this should be a great use of my laid off time haha. Much to learn from everyone here, finish this moto and lets build chainsaws!
sweet rig dude, wish I had something like that, right now Im sitting on a two years old laptop in a sweaty and hot room with a ventilator. Two screens is a luxory, not to mention 3...But to the serieous part, I like how you made the shader of the body shiny, I think you are on to sumthin there...
i haven't read all of the text, sorry about that, but have you considered using marmoset for screens? i don't think the unreal engine is doing your model much justice...
looks like your bump detail is backwards in a few areas? You can usually fix this my selecting those areas, and inverter the red and/or green channels until it shows correct
Maybe, but maybe the whole map is inverted? I only know that unreal uses the same normalmaps like max uses and for them the whole green channel is inverted and thats causing the problem.

The handles on the side are beautifull.
Cant wait to see more progress

It just depends on your and the concepts goals.
Keep it up!

Otherwise, nice work.
