You know, it's been a very long time, at least a year since I've posted anything here, but the hell with it, I know my game art no longer compares with the sick talented bastards of the new generation here these days, but here goes...
We have released Alien Arena 2009 today. It's been since January that we've had a release, but it's just because we had so much we wanted to do. The renderer has received a number of upgrades, and the sound system was rewritten from scratch to use OpenAL.
Here are some of the major "highlights" of the new features:
- GLSL per-pixel lighting on all surfaces.
- OpenAL 1.1
- Ogg-Vorbis support.
- GLSL post process framebuffer effects.
- New scoreboards.
- New HUD.
- Stereo music files.
- Seven new maps and two new player characters.
- Light volumes.
- Voice taunt system.
- Doppler sound effects.

@the whole nextgen comment ... being able to push something to a releasable state is more worth than the most high poly fancy zbrushness in my eyes !
edit: love the game, hate the menu font.
