Greetings polycount, I have been lurking for quite some time and now I have some work to show, this is the first serious model I have attempted so far but really want to get into modeling professionally its been my dream for many years and different situations keep trying to hold me back but soon I will be able to dedicate all of my time into 3d but until then give me some crits any feedback is appreciated.
Oh man I love the website and styling going on, is this a portfolio? Reason for asking is because this feels like an advert or fansite for a game which is pretty cool all in itself - kudos 2 u either way!
no no that is the company Weta in Newzeland that makes all types of models and replicas in real life, I am only using the pictures from there as a reference of the gun I'm modeling from there
now thats what i call a gun, go on do the high then bake down to a low and get it in UT3 or something, would make a nice change to all the scifi guns we see around here

whoops!
Very nice first gun, feel the handle could do with a couple more edgloops from the front after the first dip in height. Agree on the trigger.
What 3D software are you using? You should put up a render with a meshsmooth/subdivision on and more than one light. Look up 3-point lighting for more info on that. One thing I noticed is you need an extra edge loop around the back of that boxy part, which is above and behind the trigger.
