Extrusion problem

I am sorry to impose again but now I am having tool trouble that frankly I don't even know what to call it, my extrusion tool is casing an odd pie effect. The most noticeable example is when I extrude a cylinder and delete the face to save polys, but low and behold I see this underneath



I cant figure out what I did let alone stop it, if anyone knows I would appreciate it

Ugh why is it on finale projects nothing ever goes smoothly, hope to share it with yall soon

Do you have the "keep faces together" option turned off in the Extrude Options?

not that I can see, in the extrusions options it all looks normal

Oh sorry forgot to say this is Maya 2008
