No not V for Vendetta, V as in the awesome mini series from the 80's about a race of lizard aliens that umm... come in peace... You'll probably recognize the lead actress, I don't know what kind of impact that will have on Lost? A other familiar faces too.
Damn, loved that show.
Hope it lives up to the original! I remember the build-up to the discovery of them being guinea-pig-eating-lizard-monsters was quite long, but here they showed it right away in the trailer, dunno what to think about that.
They've got a bunch of actors from my favourite shows in there (Lost, 4400 and Firefly), and it sounds like my cup of tea. Will be keeping an eye out on this one I think...
I was more excited when you said they come in peace, because I thought 'wow, new, and original! not like every other fucking alien story where they come to kill us', and then bam end of the fucking trailer and it looks to be just that. ugh.
why can't they come in peace then it's all happy and sitcommy like mork & mindy + seinfeld or something.
Haha, I bought the original series a couple of months ago and have just got through it. I'm old enough to remember it first time round so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.
sweet! Saw all the series back around the mid 90s. Was already old by that point but still very entertaining. Will be neat to see how they go about modernizing it.
edit:
though thinking about it, their are a lot of things that make me wonder if this series will be remaining very faithful to the original. In the original the aliens came for water and food (humans). They wore sunglasses and doned uniforms reminiscent of the nazis. The nazi aspect permutated throught the series, even having their own version of the nazi youth play a part in the story.
The new one however seems to be dealing more with religion instead though. They are no longer a righteous military might with a hidden agenda, but instead a benevolent and serene race with a hidden agenda.
so Juliet is killed off to star in V, interesting.
The old series was awesome, I watched it every weeknight. The VFX looks pretty good for a TV show, hope they can compete with the same quality as BattleStar. I'll give it a chance
loved the original, although my mom thought it was too scary for me at the time. Also like the ufo designs better back then too, although they can't beat a giant tv screen underneath.
this show looks pretty sweet. kinda wish this wasn't a remake so everyone wouldn't know they want to eat us. would be much cooler if it was still a surprise.
Shotgun: the first guy in that video looks way too much like Heman. yay 80s hair!!!!
Cool! But they should have kept the 80s style when it comes to clothing and the design of the ships. Thats what made the series so awesome in the first place.
This new version looks just like any other generic sci-fi tv-series nowadays.
I completely missed the original, so I've no fond memories to fall back on. Looking at this with fresh eyes, it looks kind of terrible. The dialogue is goofy and all the main characters look like actors, if that makes sense. They make the world seem incredibly manufactured.
Hope I'm wrong and it hits all y'alls happy buttons
Because she fell like 300 feet straight down.... possibly?
How funny would it be if they are dead.
In the after life:
Faraday: So Jack you did know I was going to rig a timer and get away to a safe distance?
Jack: umm no I thought:
- Bomb go down hole
- If no go boom, toss Juliette in (bitch dumped me for scruffy)
- She bang bomb with rock
- If Juliette died on the trip down, toss sawyer (bitch gave me a fat lip and a headache).
- Bomb goes boom, I wake up a hot shot surgeon again.
Faraday: What if that didn't work?
- I plug hole with Hurley, apologize to Dharma guys for shooting them, also ask for old mop jockey job back"

My happy buttons are all connected to the 80s vibe they had going in the original.
But I will stay tuned.
my old boss was one of those people, also believed the government had a device in the chips used in passports to alter the chemicals in the human brain to control them (seriously I wish I was making that up)
this shit is brilliant, lol i love it, its so creatively awesome. You never know what to expect, i just got to the part where they talk about a city underground because if you hit the mountains with a hammer it sounds hallow.
Even though I *know* what they are.. they shouldn't have had that little reveal right at the end of the first clip. The theme fits the times though, them saving us from buggering up the planet.. hope it turns really nasty later.
What was that show called...I think it was written by Gene Roddenberry. The freakiest creepiest aliens ever. Had a similar storyline...but with really human looking aliens.
Definitely not. The human in that pic is creepier than the alien.
Maybe it wasn't Roddenberry. I know that the show followed a government group that was put in place to liase with the aliens. And a series or two in, the transporters the aliens 'donated' to the human race started redirecting humans to their hives. The aliens had freaky bright blue eyes.

That chick in Lost:
it better be good..
But yeah, I don't think it'll be a problem.
Look interesting. Good fx. Nice cast. Yay Inara!

Looks cool, I'll be tuning in.
Why would she be dead, but not sawyer Sawyer or half the other cast in the vicinity of that bomb?

Thinking about "Alien Nation"?

Anyone know it?
haha yea, i hear this
