Hello polycounters this is my first post here, I intend to be hanging around these forums a lot trying to absorb all of this information. Looking forward to it!
I have a quick question, working in Maya 2009, is there a way to move edge loops and verts without distorting the UV's. My problem is that I have models with finished UV's, if I try to go in and make any tweaks to the model or slide edge loops around, the texture becomes distorted. Is there a way for maya to automatically update the UV map as I move polygons so that the UV does not become distorted? Am I just being too picky, should I just make sure that my model is perfect before I unwrap UVs?
thanks!

you can download the christmas bonus here:

To do the same in pre 2009 versions use a transfer attribute node ( mesh > transfer attributes > UVs )
I still prefer transfer attribute method as it allows fer some uv fun
I never tried/heard of a bonus tools UV preserve? sounds interesting...
