Hasn't E3 for the last few years been on a steady decline into the crapper? Or was that just bigger retail guys bitching up a storm because they got the boot? But I hear its just not that, everything has been in decline, everything from swag and parties to booths and babes.
Personally I'd rather go to CDG or half a dozen art related workshops then hit up E3, but I guess if its still got something worth going and its paid for I wouldn't turn it down.
Yeah Vig - E3 that past 2 years have been tiny shows, press-only, in Santa Monica. But this year it's going back to how it was before, big ass smelly convention center, booth babes, flashy lights and insane amounts of noise.
On the plus side, they're restricting access from now on, so the public can't get in now. It's strictly dev-only, which is nice.
I went to E3 in 2003, 2004 and 2005 so I got some good years in there. I won't be going this year though since I'll technically be unemployed, heh. Maybe when the next console launch happens, I'll try to make it down there again.
I'll be there. was actually gonna make this thread next week. nice
I'M SO EXCITED.

I also find this rather interesting because I've heard the opposite. I thought it was strictly dev only (unless you're counting public as Wal-Mart and GameStop/Best Buy employees), and this year the public could pay for a ticket on the last day. I hope that's not the case, but whatever.
This year is E3's return to form though. I went in 05 and 06 and enjoyed it
Not going to E3 this year. Last time I went was back in 2005. I would love to go again, but if I had a choice I would go to gdc instead....ahh yes good timessss. Only convention I'll be attending this year is Comic-Con (pros. We get in for free ) Have to make a thread for that later on...
I found out this year that if your in the biz you get in free.. My Lead is going and she didn't have to pay anything. just flight out there and all that stuff. Something to consider next year for all you guys in the industry.
I'd probably be down for a meet and eat, depends when and where. I don't have real transportation other than the shuttle, and I'm going to try to hit up some parties.
i have no idea where. i mean, i live like 15 minutes from downtown but i never go there (because the retarded one-way streets are a fkin hazard to drive on). I dont know anything about downtown at all
