So this just lets you make maps and add in custom content, it doesn't let you create a separate mod on the L4D engine correct? It would really be nice to get a hold of some of the feature sin the L4D engine and use them in a mod at some point.
what? L4D is source engine thus you can do your own mods with the source sdk.
Except for the fact that its not part of the source sdk. All other valve products based on source are but l4d is in its own little club and if you load up the source sdk you wont find it listed there.

Because its just they are open beta tools right now. Sounds like they'll be updating Source once its in full effect.
I've played a couple times on some race servers and it really needs to be a mod or a game type, it's pretty fun. Love to see team race where you have two sets of survivor teams racing for the end screwing over each other
Now Swizzle can show us all up at L4D content too!
Rather unlikely. I certainly have plans for a L4D campaign and one or two survival maps, but I can't see getting to those until some time this fall. And there are many people out there who are much better than I at level art and design.
Yay, hopefully this will get me back into level design, been a few years...
Looking forward to trying out a small survival map first, then see if I can find the courage to take on a full campaign.
i'm amazed how easy the mod tools are. The tutorials are well written, I had a room working within a 30 mins. Now I need to graduate from a boxes level to something more substancial.

Indeed, Valve has put alot of effort in this release, so I forgive them for taking this long.
Now you'll have to excuse me, I have to lead our 8 person team in the right direction for our L4D Campaign
