We are currently looking for a talented, motivated senior environment artist for an exciting new fantasy-action RPG. This is an onsite position.
Responsibilities:
To create great looking original next-gen game art including architecture, landscapes, and landmark props
Collaborate and communicate with designers, producers, and other artists to create and implement interactive environments
Mentor junior artists by giving good feedback on their work and encouraging them to develop their skills
Contribute to the success of the art team and the project in meeting the high quality bar set by the Art Director and Lead Artists
Requirements:
5+ years console, PC or online gaming industry experience, including at least two published games
Expert understanding of an industry standard 3D package (3D Studio Max is preferred, but Maya and XSI are acceptable.)
Proficiency with Photoshop and/or Painter
Strong understanding of shaders, normal maps and Zbrush or Mudbox.
Solid organization skills with adherence to file structures, naming conventions and other established protocols.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and follow through on details
Strong traditional art skills a bonus

Every studio seems to differ on their explanation of roles - what exactly is senior world artist there at Snowblind (outside of the web description)? Do they have to manage teams, do scheduling, etc?
