Also, Neil Blomkamp is absolutely my favorite filmmaker. I'm really glad somebody decided to drop some cash and do Alive in Joburg the justice it deserves. Definitely my most anticipated film of the year.
Dude, I love his stuff. I wasn't excited for Halo because it was Halo, but because he was going to be in charge of it. I really hope he keeps his documentary feel in this one. That would be amazing.
Something bothers me about this, the short was really cool... But this, i dont know. Its almost like the production values are too high, and its just killing it for me. Give me some shity ass poorly compressed youtube feed!

Yea, I thought the same thing. What really got me interested in the short was how crude, and believable, it was. That scene in the trailer where they are interrogating the alien seemed too clich
That Citroen C4 commercial is always how I thought the Transformers movies should look. You can actually identify that it transformed from a car. Instead Michael Bay approved designs that look like walking piles of garbage.
Movie trailers are more impressive when that Cliff Martinez track plays in the background.
Fact.
Haa, yeah. Solaris. I'm with EQ and Eraserhead, hardcore... hopefully the film can either live up to AiJ or branch off in some other direction and hit a theme the short couldn't. If it's just a longer, cliche'd version in HD, meh. Still interested at this point.
why didn't this guy do terminator salvation and transformers... and before you smart asses say because they don't direct crap, I'm just saying.... the shots in the trailer look great... just saying

I don't know why but the design of the alien reminded me of the way they describe the buggers in Enders Game. Only his aliens talk...
I've got a good friend who's working on the visual effects for this badboy, and has worked with Neil before. Apparently he's a great guy.

Not Jelmer, actually, but I like him too.
I was talking about Dan Prentice, who worked with Neil over at the embassy VFX...
Fact.

I mean, they have a ship. Just, take off? With their technology, couldn't they take out a few ICBM's trying to shoot them out of the sky?

Is any of the concept art online? I really want a closer look at that mech!
