I don't have it. But I am pretty sick, So I am in self imposed Quarantine while my wife Bleaches the entire house.
Im on the Downside of whatever I have though, still pretty congested and ache though. But no more mad sneezing and Painful Coughing, Now it's just coughing to get junk outta the lungs. You know the on purpose coughs, not the involuntary ones that suck.
Anyways are you guys getting Paranoid about this thing? Or do you feel like I do, that it's a news story that is being magnified for the Talking heads on TV to blabber about?
I can see being a little freaked because it shows that the Flu is evolving I suppose, but still, I don't think it's anything Modern Science and some Precautions couldn't take care of.

theres a neat little googlemap that shows up to date cases

I agree, but bleaching the house sure makes my wife feel better.

6 supposed (non confirmed) cases here in Washington State. I heard on NPR this morning that WHO and the CDC are heavily using twitter to get the latest news out there. I just signed up.

I wonder how much is just media blitz. Could the deaths in Mexico have more to do with poor air quality around Mexico city and no advanced warning? Are we headed for another 1970's style mass vaccination for something that turns out to not be an issue and hurts more people then it helps because we rushed it?
Or are the jobless numbers going cease to be an issue thanks to attrition.
Anywho, better reread, The Zombie Survival Guide, keep your cricket bat handy and remember moon spells moon because you could be Y The Last Man.
until I watched the news just now where they were talking about a japanese woman coming home from america with a probable case of that swine flu which seems to be a hot ticket these days.
dont want to go outside tomorrow mommy
36000 die a year in the US from normal flu. Not to mention all the other viral (but a lot more boring) infections like HIV, Herpes and so forth. God, HIV is like, omg, so like, 80s. Hello!
Well I just sneezed, and it could just be allergies, but I'm pretty certain it's the swine flu and I'm gonna die. Oh those damn Mexicans finally did us in. If we'd only listened to Lou Dobbs more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEe18ECiQh4
"But even if there are swine-flu deaths outside Mexico -- and medical experts say there very well may be -- the virus would have a long way to go to match the roughly 36,000 deaths that seasonal influenza causes in the United States each year."

Main reason for this being a big deal is that it's killing people who wouldn't normally die from the flu - young adults.
People don't want to smell your cough meds when they walk in the front door.
ARRK ARRK ARRK!
Suddenly I have the strangest feeling I'm eating cherries near a fish ladder or maybe a pier...
Eat plenty of Campbell's Chicken Noodles it'll cure anything. Hope ya feel better.
sounds more nazi
I am mexican though...
he's so cool he puts on shades overshades.
Why don't they just test people leaving Mexico, and let people know that if they go to Mexico that they will be screened for it before being allowed to leave.
young people that die from a flu is a reason to be alert, specialy when it spreads fast as fuck in the overpopulated world of today.
there is a reason why they are overprotective and hype this stuff..
if you dont put the source under quarenteen fast before it speards beyoned control, were basicly fucked.
now if this virus is that deadly.. duno, but its better to not wait and see.

Also take the right steps to get checked out: http://doihaveswineflu.org/
I saw that last night on TV, the whole Funky Town ISD! My wife teaches in Mansfield and is hoping to get a week closure. Also they do not have to make that week up at the end of the year for whatever reasons.
A: this disease was engineered by the government as an excuse to declare marshal law so that B: they can liquidate private health care coverage. Lol
*looks around nervously*
I've been keeping an eye on this, a baby in Texas died from it and the L.A. coroners office is investigating 2 deaths that they think was a result of the swine virus. This all comes from yahoo news...that I can't find a link to at the moment argh!
If you look at the google map someone posted, it seems like its slowly creeping up to me here in Palmdale, CA it's a death cloud!
As for the 36k vanilla flu deaths, vs the Swine Flu...
#1:This shit hasn't been going around a year yet
#2: Just because its deathtoll doesnt rival the Black Plague or even the regular flu yet doesnt mean its not a major concern. Thats like saying Charlie Manson is no big deal and we shouldnt have done anything about him because Stalin and Hitler were way worse. WTF kinda logic is that?
#3: its crazy dangerous because the human body doesnt have any pre-existing antibodies that are effective at combating it due to its unique nature.
Anyway, stay healthy.
it's overhyped and not. It's getting too much media coverage, I agree. But it's a very different type of flu from the yearly one that gets around. As others have said, this one is resistant to most meds and is killing young adults who are very healthy. That in of itself makes it extremely dangerous. It's not just the weak and elderly who are dying from this.
People should be informed about how to protect themselves, but it's turning into a media frenzy as opposed to general insight on the issue.
Anyone remember killer bees? ^_^
ahahahahahaah
4000 people died of regular flu here in canada last here.
30 000+ died of regular flu in the USA last year.
And yes these are prob your more senior members of society. And everyone always says swine flu is targeting "Young healthy adults". Yet 4000+ people (possibly young healthy adults) were killed in mexico "So far this year" due to shootings.
I would love to see stats for shooting deaths this year in the states along with car crashes.
Of all the things to worry about killing you, Swine flu is at the bottom of my list. We start getting in to the millons infected and 50 000+ dead I'll start worrying. Not to seem completly cold hearted but its just the basic praticality of it all. Until it gets up there I have a greater chance of getting raped by a aids infected midget than contracting swine flu at this point.
But who knows maybe i'll be the 1 canadian to die from it.
I've been doing my part, how about you?
The logo is a cartoon pig in a sombrero.
They say that the swine flu is a mutation of the bird flu, pig flu, and human flu. So if I eat a chicken wrapped in bacon I should get total immunity, and everything should cancel out.
Dude I feel your pain, I've been under the weather for the past 5 days now. It took 2 days for my fever to break which had me thinking about the whole scare that's going on. I was going to head out to the doctors office but I figured that I would ride this out and hope for the best.
That said I had to stop watching the nightly news programs because it had me freaking paranoid!
This must be the cure!
Is this seriously driving the price of pork down?
