Hello Polycount!
First time user, long time viewer (sort of).

I have stepped up the courage to show you what I am working on for my 11 week class in Art Institute of California-San Francisco. Also viewable via Gamestepper forums (shameless advertisement, I swear it's the only time I will plug that in).

Project:
For the desk we need to stay under 1200 tris
The room will be eventually under or at 3000 tris
The lighting is going to be baked in, no render images. The images will be snap shot just from Maya (2009) view port. (from what I know so far)

Here is the step by step as of week 1-4:
RoomWIP2.jpg
Deleting faces not seen or of objects I intend on NOT repeating

These are some close ups on some of my objects

My FIRST time UV unwrapping

Textures so far, I have blocked out base color. Will add shadows as well. Changed UV to accommodate painted textures.

So I have "finished" the desk. I made further changes, and need to make the wood table have more prominent grains. I made the alpha for the leaves and the desk chair. I want to change the pencil cup color, and make the tower look less fuzzy. The "dog sub-woofer" needs to have a better look for the speaker, cause right now it looks like a decapitated dog. The part where the head would be needs to look like the speaker.

Starting the rest of the room. I have recently changed the rug and given it a ceiling that is not in these photos.
