Yeah, this game is gonna be nuts. Kamiya also directed Okami, Viewtiful Joe, and Resident Evil 2 so his record is pretty sterling. He says he's going to push forward the action genre again and damnit I'm gonna believe him.
Not that he has a very high bar to reach after DMC4/Ninja Gaiden 2/Ninja Blade were all super-underwhelming.
Gonna be another critically acclaimed and poor selling game, though.
i was sad that there was no gungrave sequel on the ps3 yet. But this will totally satisfy my emptiness. i had always dreamt of a hybrid of gungrave and dmc. I think this will be the best action game since dmc4.
I wouldnt call it bad art direction just foreign art direction. falls into the final fantasy, tekken vibe for me. not my cup of tea, but WAY over my head in terms of skill needed to produce this type of stuff. What I dig about this game is it doesnt seem to take its self too seriously. Sort of like snakes on a plane had a baby with devil may cry. lol
And yes, the art direction is completely shit. Did a colour blind person develop the palette?

And that's a scary thing. I mean, purple? What the fuck were they thinking? Purple is not grey, brown or desaturated blue; therefore it should not exist. I refuse to acknowledge that I even saw it. Only blind people see purple.

also I should probably state that I work with cojax and I`m just razzin him as that model gave me a boner. I didn't mean for that to sound like I was attacking people that had a different view point out of nowhere.
i'm normally not on his side, but this time... it's looking awful not foreign, there are plenty of awesome looking games and movies from over there, this is definitely far away from looking good, a sexy ass bitch is not changing anything, but maybe the game is great so it doesn't really matter, but it is looking veeeery bad.

I don't really like the way this looks, every is so "all over the place" that it makes the screenshots hard to read. The one Sectaurs posted looks alright, though the character doesn't pop off the environment..

Not really, no. Only the first two words in that sentence register an interest with me, and since we are online and everything I really don't have to play that game to see "supermodel librarians". :P
It's pretty embarassing, if I'm honest. It's increasingly hard to refuse Heather Chaplain's recent claim of developers being "a bunch of fucking adolescents" when this sort of stuff persists.
The art direction isn't any less garish than any of the recent Castlevanias, maybe even a little more put together...It's all surface though, here's hoping there's a solid action game behind it.
Heather Chaplin would find a ton of evidence supporting her case if she ever decides to dig though our DW forums... I like to think of ourselves more as adults with adolescent tastes.
Hmm... I'm still playing Mad World but maybe I'll buy a XBox just for this.
Edit- Never mind saw that is also for PS3. Need more XBox games that I want to play -_-
