Hey there
I've noticed there's actually quite a few musicians on this forum.
Post anything. Videos, audio clips, covers, original stuff, nerd out about your gear whatever.
I play guitar and some bass. Been playing for about 3 years. Don't have any original stuff but I'm just starting to get into recording and messing around with some drum sequencers. For now I've mostly just got covers.
I loves me some Tool:

I'm finishing up a rhythm game/interactive album called "Jammer", that will come out soon on Xbox Community games. I did all the music for it (well, all the programming, design etc also). http://video.msn.com/video.aspx?vid=ff732d6c-422e-4f8e-b6d2-b4b37553edf2

Cool stuff! I like both tracks... in particular the 2nd one...nicely emotive. I'd like it more if the strings on track '19' were a bit "bigger". They could use a fair amount of large-room reverb and/or a bit of delay (maybe a 1/4 note time on the delay).
Edit: same for the strings and the oboe sound on the other track...they sound a bit too much like electronic instruments and less like they might be playing in a concert hall.
It's great to see other polycounters working on music for indie games.
I think this summer i'll be in the market for a new guitar... been using this shitty epiphone for 4 years now, I think it's time to move on up.
Pretty cool playing too, although Tool in general isn't the most challenging stuff (play something off 10,000 Days - Jambi or something!)... I like your les paul too, is that a proper gibson one, silverburst? I can't make out the writing on the stock. Why do you have 2 les pauls though? Surely if you have more than one guitar you want them to be different, to get different sounds / feels out of them... I know I want to have as diverse a collection as possible for the most variety, but I guess if you like Les Pauls then that's fair enough (personally I find them way too uncomfortable to play, although they do sound nice).
I posted my fairly middling compositions a while back, they're still up here:

I've been listening to the new Mastodon album (Crack the Skye) recently, it's awesome, and now I really want to record a lot of stuff in that style, just don't have time at the moment
he he :P
Not sure if that works or not, but it was my test run with Adobe Audition -- now using MBox 2.

I'd love to get a decent recording setup and record some of the actual songs I've written, but the motivation just isn't there without a real (human) drummer. I have a goofy black metal parody song I made in college somewhere at home that I should dig up and post. One of my roomates at the time was obsessed with black metal and insisted I write him some music so we could have a fake band. He was kind of retarded...haha

That jammer was pretty cool. I really need to get an xbox.
Jason: yea I got off beat quite a bit. haha. Thanks though.
MoP: Tool might not be the most challenging stuff on guitar but godamn I love the sounds they come up with. I like the precise delay stuff and alien like ambience and screeches he gets with feedback. Also the rhythms and time signatures they get going with that drummer are pretty insane.
It's a real deal Gibson Custom shop Silverburst. The older one from '84 they have a newer reissue but I don't think it has the burst on the sides, back, or headstock. I actually just got this thing earlier this year in January. Anyone here work at Bungie? The guy I bought it off of was Joe Spataro's brother (I think Joe does art at Bungie from what I gathered). But yea I've actually got quite a few guitars MoP haha. The Cherryburst is an epiphone and was my first guitar. Always dreamt of getting the Silverburst though so that's why I I've got 2 LP's :P. It's cool cause I can keep different tunings. I've got more though...
I've got the gear acquisition syndrome pretty bad....
YEA! That new Mastodon album is awesome. I was just learning Oblivion last weekend. Only got about half way through.
