maya 8.5 help

This is a random request but i've somehow managed to mess up my settings in maya and was wondering if their was a way to restore everything to default?? i've looked through the menu's but cant seem to find it myself.


The real issue i'm dealing with here is that i can't seem to get my world relative values back to center,... if that makes sense... see below.

check the tool preferences, the middle of three buttons in the top right, put it on object

Haaaaa, maya's coordinates system, that good old broken friend :P

Illusions

Double click the move tool icon in the toolbar, and when it opens the attribute bar on the right up, make sure you have your move tool set to World and not something like Custom.

sounds like its something the guys have already mentioned, but the other cause of funky movement is parenting or grouping where parent nodes have some translation or scale. is it parented under anything?
