That's cool. I am a big DT fan (although I haven't listened to much recently for some reason, hopefully their new album will rectify that), and of course a big Liquid Tension Experiment fan too.
Cool to see Rudess showing off his chops here, that man knows what he's doing.
The string sound was very impressive, it was like he had half an orchestra at his fingertips - great control of volume too. Neat effects demonstrated by a master.
wow do I want that choir sound, pretty impressive. No doubt Rudess is some kind of robot, like the rest of the band.
I'm always back and forth with dream theater, even though I really enjoyed James LaBrie's work with Ayreon it always feels like he ruins the songs in Dream Theater. Likewise I usually really enjoy the music in their songs, though I often feel the virtuosity that makes them cool lets them down by getting a bit robotic feeling.
Seconded, they truly are insanely awesome live.
Last time I saw them, they not only played stuff from every single album, but they also played nearly all of Octavarium and then finished off by performing a perfect rendition of Pink Floyd's entire Dark Side Of The Moon album. Mad.
I was usualy liking Dream Theater a lot, some very good influences of Dream Theater came from Toto, Rush and bands like that. A good keyboardist in comparison (for me the best) is Greg Phillinganes.

I had a chance to go to NAMM with a friend but I was busy with other stuff
Do you play anything HellMark? I'm just over the hill
DT is insane live. Can't recommend it enough. I've seen them twice.
