function keys stopped working in max???

has anyone ever had this happen? the function keys still work for other apps, and F1 still works to bring up max help. I cant find any documentation about this and its driving me CRAAAAAZEEEEE

GaAGhh and now "ctrl + Z" doesnt work

but other "ctrl +" type shortcuts still work! O_O WTF is going on!>?

Just need to restart max, or make sure that the Override Toggle funcion is on. I think that's what it's called. It controls shortcuts, and sometimes mine would turn off.

WHOOO fixed it-

theres a little check box next to the group drop down that says "active".
I unchecked it at some point by accident

there goes like 20 min of my life I`ll never get back
