Hay friends I'm thinking of making a UT3 Railgun.
I'm trying Vary hard to think of a Really cool design,My mind is not made for this but I'm trying.
I will post some previews as they come.
I'll try to keep you up to date,It's bean a wile since I modeled so no guaranty's.

you just made a cube and rendered it out and posted it look for crits?

I didn't say I had anything done yet,So the cube is all I had.
I thought the Forum Rules were to "Respect" others work.
And if your struggling for ideas take some time looking up images of rail guns, both sci-fi and real. Paste all those images into a single psd document and make yourself a nice mood board that you can get some ideas and inspiration from. Even posting something like that with notes on it saying which parts you might want to run with would be better then nothing.

Zerk was probably just starting his thread. I dont see anything wrong with it. thats what people do on dominance war threads, they say "hey im so and so and im thinking of doing this character based on this and that" just to start their thread and then post their updates later. I dont see why we need to tear him a new poop hole. and the box thing, ill just take that as a joke.
in all honesty do you want us to do the concept work for you? how lame is that.
It's not against the rules to post nothing, HOWEVER it's professional to start working and then create your post for criticism.
I hope you think about this in the future.
This is not work, this is half a minute in any modelling package. You shouldn't make a thread unless you have something substantial to show, since art threads without art are pretty much pointless.
i thought this was a "pimping and previews" forum...
not a "thoughts and processing" forum.
protip = when posting in this forum, post your current work in progress, or near finished work for critique, or a finished work for pimpage.
I think those people should be teased as well "just reserving my spot" wtf, there's limited spots? Is this a fancy eatery, is there a 45 minute wait to get a table?

I always find my best designs start out with research on how similar things work... There are several good sites dedicated to magnetic-guns. I like to figure out how something works (on a basic level) then block out the major components - in this case the coils, the rails/barrels, capacitors and battery's. Usually Ill exaggerate proportions till it looks good, and start filling in detail from there. I just did a quick search and found some fun examples of REAL railguns - hopefully you can use some of this as
reference!

Hate to say it, but you don't GET goot ratings until you show at least something. And insulting everyone (INCLUDING many highly respected pros) and saying "I'm not listening to you!" is a good way to 1 ) NEVER get better than you are now, befause you will refuse to hear advice, and 2 ) Gain a LOT of animosity and even more disrespect, and nobody will want to even bother with your threads if it keeps up.
If you wanna ignore people, that's fine and dandy. But if you declare you are doing so and insult people in the proccess, that's the best way to have just thrown your time here in the trash.
I'm a newbie myself, and I'm struggling to improve everything I do. And yes when people come down on you like a ton of bricks, it can be hard, but ya just gotta suck it up and forge on ahead.
You come to a forum to improve, that is why you're here. Professionals take the time to read posts and post their own work and all you have to say is 'Whatever Geeks'. This is just sad, this is a professional environment, not a game forum nor an immature community. We treat each-other with respect, and If you don't have respect or the will to improve and take criticism you'll never get anywhere. I hope this helps you.

These people are, as Valandar and Sam said, highly respected pro's who actually take their time to give reviews and critiscism of you're work. Seriously dude grow up ... you sound like a little kid. -.-
