hey guys
here's my brainstorm sketch for DW4.
toying with the fallen angel idea as a Demon Prince. liking the 2 horizontal swords on his hip will carry that through to the next stage.
good luck to everyone
edit: bah typed 3D instead of 2D for the title...

Second pass based on the previous round of sketches. Still going with the Fallen Angel idea.
Another pass on the character. Most elements seem to be in place and working together. Darkened the gear slightly to create greater contrast between his skin tone and rest of the character.
Still undecided about his hair colour. Will most likely take it a touch darker.
My composition sketch. Going to use this as the base for the final illustration.
Also currently working on the model sheet
Thanks Gav! Im eager to see how you texture your creature
you should really play with those LED's on his wings -- they are in a clutch spot for some big contrast.
my brain isnt working, are you saying the secondary blue light is in a bad spot?
looks good -- keep going!! It's a tough read on the scripts -- you should post your story
i agree the script isn't coming across well, but fingers crossed in the final illustration it'll be clearer. if not hopefully the model sheet will explain things
as for story i haven't written it, but... here's whats knocking around in my head:
he's a fallen angel turned demon prince. has the power of ice/cold. his internal corruption is turning physical, and in an attempt to stem his decay he bound his wings with angelic script bandages.
his symbol is the snake in a circle, biting its own tail. i've used it here and there, esp on his twin swords. i've fashioned one of the blades to look like a snake, esp the tip, it is forked.
his clothes are now shredded, his once ornate armour is old and he has lost pieces of it here and there...
guess in short i'm after abit of history in his design and suggest a sense of former glory.
here's a progress shot of the guy. he's getting there...
and a half finished model sheet...
such a strong one!
