I just finished putting the base textures on this pillar... and decided it was time to start a thread. I haven't decided whether I'm going to make a complete scene out of it. It depends on how long this takes me to complete.

The design of it is pretty cool and unique.
The only thing I see as maybe being weird is the texture your using for the broken parts of the pillar. Unless those areas are completely broken away and now its just the brown part showing through. If that's the case it's okay but looks odd. Not sure.

As for the actual model, The arrows you've modeled out and sunken beneath the corner trim pieces could all go. Keep the edge trims, inset the inner polys and bake down your arrows to that.
