Chaos V49 vs Sarith

Hey guys, my mate and I decided to do a little competition since I helped him get Zbrush to do the coolest "Boss" type sculpt.

I think, personally, that this is not my best work as I was intending for this to be a speed model. Head over to my zbrush work thread for my other stuff.

Who wins? You decide : P

the second one? cause i can't tell what the first one is really. Both need more reference for whatever you planned to achieve.

Neither of these look anywhere near finished, you both should spend some more time on them, all i see is random blobby shapes.

The top of your friends model looks like an Asparagus.

This will cause me much debate as to who will win...

Hehe all jokes aside, it is cool that you both are trying to pick up ZBrush. I feel that competition can give you the drive to make your work look better. I feel that you both need a good artistic base and eye before you start competing against each other. A big step into doing that is looking at reference and matching your sculpts as close as possible to the things you're looking at it. Looks like you both are doing characters so anatomy would be the first place I would go to. My teacher told me before that once you can do photo real objects, doing fantasy stuff like you guys are doing right now will be much easier to execute. Keep up the passion and keep practicing, best of luck to you both.

Well, I'm the one that's been doing 3D for 2 years now. My mate is just doing zbrush for fun as he does not have any programs like 3dsmax or Maya. The challenge was actually to create a boss type enemy without refrence from a blob for fun. I realise you can use Z-spheres and bases from 3dsmax but this was just a small, fun competition that we just decided to do - wasn't serious or anything. Thanks for the feedback.
