Santiago Orgaz, the creator of Xnormal. A very generous man who has for years now, given up immense amounts of his personal time and energy to provide polycount and the entire game developement community at large free, world-class software.
I'm writing this thread to try and raise awareness a bit, and to give back to the guy who has given so much to us, asking only for our silly feature requests and bug-reports in return. So please, if Xnormal is a program that you use in your own personal projects, or at work. Consider donating, or talking to your studio about donating.

I would donate more but I just had to pay my taxes
I will donate upon my wife's approval
Do you have some kind of logo/icon so people can put on their site and/or some renders to quickly show they're using xNormal and show appreciation(besides the donations ofc hehe)
I guess then it would seem more of an obligation rather than a hobby, as you mentioned, but apart from that, I can't think of a reason not to charge for it if you are still interested in continuing development.
xnormal is great and you should be congratulated for it. Why not get paid too, though?
love the xNormal.
also please don't cancel xN4 just consider scaling the scope back abit (your only one guy, and you need a life after all, it sounded overly ambitous anyways).
anyways THANKYOU santiago for everything you have done so far for everyone in the 3d graphics community
Thanks Santiago!
Will donate a.s.a.p.
I don't have much occasion to use xnormal, as I don't do much visual art. But I can see that you're pushing the art form of Computer Graphics in all the right directions, and the entire field is made richer by your efforts. I wish you good luck with XN4 or whatever your next project is. I'm sure it will kick ass. Our field needs more people like you working in it.
with bakers in Substance Painter and Toolbag 3, xNormal has finally found it's way out of my pipeline completely after years of dutiful service. I want to say one last thank you and donation for all your work Mr. Orgaz. I really appreciated having a powerful free baker around to help get my foot in the door of the industry. Sure many would echo a similar sentiment.
Haven't used it for some time, probably 18mths or more and I always try to donate because open source or freeware is how I basically roll. So yes indeedy Mr Orgaz thankyou very much.
P.S:
Although a bit odd bumping this particular thread after 8 years, hey wait a minute shouldn't it be locked? I guess different rules here other places I visit usually close threads after a certain period, maybe a year or so of inactivity then automatically declared dead. Also wasn't there an xNormal master thread? I remember seeing one 6 years ago?!
