Hey everybody, I'm one of the new guys around here signing up to join the war. I tried posting earlier this week but I guess it's stuck in admin limbo or just got deleted. Maybe I shouldn't have promised to discreetly increase all your penis sizes by two inches.

Anyway, I'm planning on doing a Demonic Abomination. Here's some early concepts.

Welcome to the winning side Matt, 3, 4, 5 definitely seem like the most interesting so far. A few more sets of thumbs working with those shapes could produce some cool concepts.

Well I really like the direction this is heading. For the masks B and C are looking really great, I think the other two kind of remind me of The Punisher. I want to see more Matt!

I just bought a tablet on eBay. Within two to three business days I'll be able to really start cranking out artwork again.

It's just a Wacom Bamboo MTE450, but it was only $68 and I got to crush the dreams of somebody who wasn't smart enough to use an auto-sniper script. :thumbup:

My tablet finally came a few hours ago. Now I'll be able to make significant updates regularly (if not daily). Here's my first bit of work with it.

Well then this edit of the last image that helps me visualize what kinds of materials and textures I'll be making this beast out of (as well as what to do with that abdomen) will really remind you of a Carnifex. There's actually a few Tyranids in the massive wall of monster reference I compiled the other night. Maybe I'll post a link here or something because it's like 6000 x 8000.

So, here's a quick sketch of the new direction I'm going in. After spending some time really working out the biology of this beast and trying to block it out I realized that I've strayed from my original ideas.



I'm toying with different things to make the silhouette stand out more. Feedback is as always welcome, appreciated and encouraged.

Here's a quick update of the retopo'd and adjusted version of this brute I've begun to nickname "Meaty" since his fists now resemble meathook like claws. As you can see I have about 4k tris left over and I'm knocking around a few ideas on how to spend it. Chains? Shackles? More bone-like protrusions? A norm hero's corpse strapped to his back?

Well, after wasting a week chasing an art test for a job I probably won't get, I'm back at it. I dove right in to the UVs, started sculpting in detail and now I'm going to be moving on to textures. Here's a preview of what I have so far.

Well, I finally got around to texturing, but I don't think I'll ever be satisfied with it so I'm moving on...



Wish I would have finished on time, but at least I learned a lot...
