Afternoon all,

A great (and talented) friend of mine recently finalised his band's first EP in the studio and it's sounding amazing. He passed the link onto me and I thought I'd take the time to put it up here for you all to enjoy. I'm going to skip putting my own definition of it up on here and instead just give you the link. I've hosted it on my site so check it out and post what you think, both I and them would love to know. It's just a shade under 60mb but I don't think too many of you are still on 56K, are ya?

Very nice, I liked it. It reminded me a bit of the awesome Battles at times.

Cool stuff! Definitely quality stuff, I am an instant fan.

It's pretty interesting and layered, and a nice mix of styles. There's hints of Mogwai, Tool, Cooper Temple Clause, The Receiving End of Sirens and, yes, a bit of Battles in there too.

Looking forward to more. It's the sort of stuff I'd probably try to record if I had more time... although this is maybe a bit more ambient.

Holy s***, Siren has just become one of my fav songs in awhile man, these guys rock. Do they play live shows? be interested to see how or if they can pull off the same sound (beefy) I was in a band like this with a lot of heavy layering, and when it came time to playlive shows, we could never pull t off completely.

Also, the dude sounds like he has an awesome voice. If I had my way (which I don't, ha ha) next batch of songs (hopefully a full cd release) be cool to have him sing more. I know this is more of an instrumental band, but man... some of those progressions just screaammmeddd awesome vocal melodies... then again, it may get to a point where it just gets too complicated.

Anyways Kimono, tell the guys that their band fucking rocks, and I look forward to hearing more. Wish them good luck for me.

Yeah that stuff isn't bad, I think MoP pretty much nailed the variety there, the first song was pretty Battles, but then it goes more into it's own thing(which is reminiscent of the bands listed without out being stale)

edit: Yeah and 8ftspider just nailed why I clicked this link, i thought it was about that, lol.

These guys made a mistake in saving the mp3's, though. They put in useful and accurate id3-tags. The rule is: When you release free mp3's to promote your band, you make sure it's impossible to tell the name of the band, or where their website is.
This is standard practice, guys, please get with the program.
