Looking pretty cool so far. I always enjoy your sculpts. One thing I might suggest is to scale up the bottom portion a lot more in relation to the torso... think it will help make the character feel more imposing.
Nice one!
I realy like first version. Face look like Lord Maul from Star Wars, mayby to much similar.
Spiders foots in first version can be biger, mayby with claws?? Dont know, but is Your choice:]
Secoud version is clasic spider-insect I think worst version.
Mantis man! dont know how i feel about the pair of human feet, i think their positioning is strange for me. Glad to see you joining even if its late. i cant wait for your updates you stuff is always stunning.
Cheers guys,
Bryan Cavett - great suggestion on scaling up!
Woogity - I think the feet will look kinda biblical from the front when his arms are outstretched and his shriveled feet hang there, reinforcing the fact that I feel he is a religious character. I hope it works out ok
I always enjoy seeing new work from you. This guy has really unique anatomy and a lot of potential - great block-in. I agree with JFletcher, the hooded version is the way to go.
cheers guy, I guess I have rushed a little bit so I have stepped back and gathered my thoughts on what I wanted from a character. I guess the early idea was based on something I want to do as a personal piece.. which doesn't quite fit with what I want to do for the dwar.
Looks cool. I think that body type, lends to leaning over more than being upright though. Face isn't entirely discernible right now, but looks promising. I think overall it just needs more balancing, but is a good direction to take. Also, maybe, some character defining features a bit more.
You do an awesome entry every time you do dom war, so I have faith you will pull awesomesauce this year too, and it looks like you're on your way
I gotta say, he looks more like an "alien" now than a "demon". I think the face and hood was a really nice direction for this guy. Anyway, nice progress, I like the body musculature a lot.
coldkodiak, thanks its good input.
PeterK, I think alien, demon its just our perceptions of what is demonic. I guess there are a lot of classical influences and religious connotations to demons which influence our perceptions of what a demon would be however I think in truth its a very open term and imho we shouldn't limit ourselves with the commonly perceived look for a demon.
jox, cheers.
I guess starting late is bugging me, I havent had time to think about my ideas and I dont want to start something unless I feel commited to making it.
zombie spacemonkey and robot minion from dimension K
I'll see how this goes
the umbrella seems out of place -- probably the last thing I would imagine shooting off to space with a monkey since it doesn't rain and space suits have protective lenses so you don't get sun burnt ... but other than that this looks effing bad arse. poor monkey ... all alone...all zombie.

Haha i made a kiss ass post anyway
Looking forward to what you cook up
this is gonna be mental to see
good luck, and i hope u can finish!
you know if you finish this though, you can't be a judge
I always like to start off a sculpt with the head/upper torso to set the feel.
where have i seen that face before, lol :P
The intent was that in the thumb he was rearing up and I guess I watered that down a little too much.
experimenting a bit before locking things down
Cheers
Tim
nice to see you taking part! Looking forward to more

looks awesome, digging the umbrella.
