kite: thanks man, I love the way you're taking your character by the way. I agree that the goaty guy and the bot probably have the most intresting sillo in their current state. I'll see if I can push the design further. I got this idea about a chick/turkey/robot thing. Meh, I'll see what I'll do.
rooster: thanks mate, yeah, I think they were the ones that got most love when sketching. I want to stay safe with the design (nothing too fucked up in other words) but still do something I can appreciate modeling. 's a delicate balance indeed :>
again, thanks for dropping by, I'll drop by your threads later.
swirly staff guy is my favorite, really nice sketches! On close inspection they look so rough and sketchy but as a whole it looks very clear and concise... when I try to do sketchy sketches like that they end up looking like crap As does the sketches that I try to make look good
Yozora: Thanks for the tip and yup they are pretty sketchy. Keep pushing that pen. Work big to small, abstract to figurative, rough to polish, value to colour, center o' interest to secondary shapes. and so on. :poly121:
I spent some more time messing around with the design today, I think I'll go for the goaty guy after all. I tried giving him some warhorse armor on the image to the left. I'm not sure if he should be a biped or a quad. I'm pretty entertained by the idea of building a centaur creature, but I fear that the extra legs wont do much for the overall design and feell. Meh I dont know. What do you guys think?
woogity: Thanks mate, I'll probably go for something spotted or striped (like a zebra centaur!) Im not too sure about the blues but, its definately an intresting contrast.
here's a somewhat more polished version, i think the gold balances the rest rather well. not too sure about the tigh plates.
