DWIV - 3D - Gabriel Fors

Hiya! I figured it was time to try this new Internet thing, and this Dominance War business seems to much fun to pass up, even though I'm new at 3d. But all y'all help me, right?

I figured it'd be fun to revive one of my older concepts and make it into a model. Here's the pic;



I'm going with Norm, and either Stalker(probably) or Warlord.
The concept is basically that the character is a member of a proud amphibian stealth-warrior caste of an otherwise entirely seabound race, fighting in close quarters using their harpoon-halberds for what could essentially be described as "Squid-Fu" (quick movement and use of smoke and other reagents to confuse and trick the enemy), and at range using the implemented bomb lance harpoon in the weapon, used both offensivly and /or as a grappling hook.

Any tips are welcome. I probably won't be able to start on the acctual 3d model for a week or so, so there's plenty of room for suggestions.

I love the hair and hammershark-look ^^ But id like to see more volume on the body area, that may be just my taste, but i think it would look more intresting that way..? (maybe like a broad back or something...) looking forward to see some progress!

I've heard form other people that it needs some larger shapes to create a focal point, I'm thinking of widening the torso a bit either acctually or artificially by adding more armour and maybe a backpack. I'm thinking of giving him more armour at any rate, and maybe making it more in the style of the Harpoon-Polearm rather than having it look like leather/wood bits or whatever. So maybe more "Aincient Armour Of The Deep" than "I made this in Leatherworking!"

I'll doode some more on it this weekend, I think, I'll post the results.

This is really good stuff, I like the stilty feel of the character. Actually it's already awesome as it is, any clue to how his feet will look like?

I like everything about this character so far, with exception of the sucker finger tips. Reminds me to much of the old 50s alien fingers.

Can't wait to see more progress.
