image > adjust > match color

you'll choose your source image, and what you want to match to. There are some sliders there for adjustments and such.

Best way ive found is to put it in its own document, then put the texture you want to match in its own document (on background layers), and run Match Color. Then C/P it where you need to put it.

    yep, i love match color!
you can pick from different layers inside the same document too, this has always worked well for me.

I remember the first time I heard that feature mentioned, I think it was on a tech site in an article about 'beautifying your photos using great paintings'. The idea was you'd run your photo through a match color with say the mona lisa and pick up that palette.

I use it all the time texturing though. Great feature!

It would be really awesome if this tool could adjust the brightness contrast of your image to match another image. Anyone got a workflow for doing this?
