Started sculpting the organic portion. Haven't gone into full detail yet until I place the armor pieces over his body. Then I can merge the two properly and finish up micro details.
I approved your post and attachment... not sure what is happening here, since you can actually right click and open it in a new window, so the link itself is good.
Try linking to another storage option like dropbox or something and see if that works.
I actually like the weight the tail gives to the back of the body. Maybe you can try something a little different with the bag legs though. The reverse foot takes away from the horse/centaur feel to me.
edit: neveermind it popped up when i refreshed! ( but first and 4th arent showing)
i like it alot more, less stretched out and a cool tail weap
maybe make the tail slightly longer that it hangs out infront of his head so you know hes got reach with it?
So, looking at the 2nd and 3rd image, awesome! Very nice idea, sure looks like a challenge to model and sculpt, looks to be very intricate.
I like both ideas very much, the scorpion because it has a very menacing stance, and i kinda picture it also prodding and probing the corpse. it also looks more sensible as in how it would attack, with the stinger and all. (or maybe it shoots lasers, whatever floats your boat )
The more centaur-like one definately has a agile and speedy look to him. Not completely sure about the thropy corpses on his spike, but that's more because I wonder: how the hell did het put them on there?
So, no conclusive crit from me on which one is cooler, but a warm welcome to the greentooth army!
I think his feet are too big and it would be cool if the went back under his body again in the end, that the actual feet stopped right under where they began. Perhaps... just an opinion
Thanks for the crit guys. I'm still banging my head with it to make sure it's going feel right.
Maxen - An earlier concept I tried had more of a Griffon/Centaur body and it looked cool but I decided to go with a more mechanical feeling leg. It started to feel too organic if you know what I mean. The other issue with it was that the front legs had to be different than the back legs which in the end means more texture space and polys. Which are going to be a pain as it is. haha. I might revisit the idea to see if I can come up with something that works. I did like the look. Just wish I had more time. Ideas aren't coming to me very fast right now.
the new sketch is sweet. nice job. my only crit on that is the detials on the side of the gas mask dont cohesive with the rest of the mask/tech. ( the vent things)
other then that, bad ass!
did you do that all tonight??? looks great
the neck looks slightly too long in the model compared to the concept. looks like you might finish after all!

Yea, I was going more with the silhouette sketch for the neck. It's slightly longer than the 3/4 shot. We'll see how it looks all together. I might shrink it if it looks weird. His torso is slightly elongated too on purpose. But not as exaggerated.
