DWIV - 2D/3D - Nick Carver

Hey guys!

Thought I'd join the fun. Not sure yet whether I'll be entering the 2d or 3d contest. Not sure I'll have enough free time for a full character model, but let's see how we go...

I'm thinking of doing some kind of demon, probably the 'abomination' type. Here are some silhouettes I did this evening. Not sure where I'm going with this yet - I'll probably cook up another batch tomorrow. One idea I had was an undead type character who is enslaved by a giant beetle thing attached to its head, but maybe that's a bit too headcrabby. Anyway, enough digression, here's the pic:

Cheers for all the replies, guys!

I've decided to go with a design based on thumb number 4. The idea is that this parasitic demon beetle attaches itself to the head of a dead human soldier and controls it/feeds off it. Just an excuse to combine giant bug, zombie, world war one type uniform, gore etc. really! Think I'm going to go for the 3d category as I've never sculpted anything insecty or done much zombie stuff either.

I've not had a lot of time to work on this yet so just another silhouette for now. Will get a proper concept done later in the week.
