Wow, TBone, youre back! Youre not working at Day 1 Studios anymore? Are you at Blizzard now? Anyway, good to see you back. Cant wait to see what you pull off this time.
r4ptur3: he's a dirty demon, haha. my plan is to have his backup be a couple of evil girls, so hopefully his perverted look will work when I get them in
clee101: whassup Clee! Good to see you too, man. Yessir, I left Day1 close to a year ago, time has flown by! I am at Blizzard now. I haven't posted in a long time, yeah. I wanna get on here more though.
coldkodiak: his nipples may be covered eventually... maybe...
got an update to the concept. So I would like to have some girls with this big demonlord dude. Trying to come up with some ideas for how they could work together. Original plan was to have the demon girls act as his weapons but maybe theres some more uses for them too.
Hey guys, I wanted to get this idea down before work this morning.
Kamui: gonna try.. lol The texture space is a concern yeah, though the girls may be very similar on a base level with some touches to make them look a little different from one another.
Mop: wassup dude! I remember your stuff too! cant wait to see what you do this year!
akira: you know it! ;-)
wardestroyer: Third round and Akuma's got a charged Ultra, whats gonna happen!?
I like the shape of the big guy's horns, good silhouette there. Also the demon girls legs and arms are looking cool and I like the direction you're taking for how they will transition into the more human-like skin.
My god, that looks grotesquely amazing! I really love the idea of the succubi pulling him along. Only thing I'd say is there's a bit of a danger over-detailing, but its coming along nicely.
Nice progress! I like the barnacle-type feel the detail work is getting. Also that you are using the detail to accentuate the musculature on the arm, that is a good decision and maybe you could incorporate that kind of treatment more with the detail work on his trapezius and back...
Hiya, Thanks for your replies, guys! I'm back from a trip outta town and I'm blocking in more of the model now to get a better feel for what i'm going for - before i get too far along on detailing.. At least, I call myself blocking it in, once i start sculpting I tend to keep going and have to stop myself.. anyways, I have the bug in there now and I'm feeling like the abomination guy will need some stuff to make him feel cohesive with his insect mount he has here. The seat is roughly placed behind him and I'd like it to appear more like a throne when its all said and done. I think the bug's shell should be more visible from the side view and i'm feeling like he should be strapped onto this thing. as always, comments and crits are welcomed!
clee: thank you. i'll be trying to update everyday this week. we'll see how it goes
Davidskiwan: appreciated greatly, I agree with you, it could get noisy, I gotta take a look at how those shoulders are coming out. up close i think its ok, far away... maybe some of that arm stuff i have could work on his shoulders?
foreverendering: thanks dude. I took your advice about building that part out. Im planning to go back into his arms more too and see i i can get some more of that muscle mimicry happening.
r4ptur3: thanks! I'm a big fan of your entry btw.
Cody: TY! I noticed your from Phoenix. i worked there for quite a while.
PeterK: thanks peter! im really diggin the shapes and forms you have on yours.
onionhead_o: thanks! creepy's good!
Great progress TBone! At this point, I wanna start seeing something thats not symetrical. Im sure youre not done with the hands, but I think it could use more detailing there.. What will his weapon be?
jea, lookin good man.my only real crits would be sharpen more of the bug shell or infested parts on him, so there is a contrast between teh soft fleshyness and the rigid material. this step usually comes later, so im probably mentioning it prematurely. other than tha love teh shape adn that giant jaw. good stuff
Ohhh boy, looking ill Troy! That chin is definitely a deadly melody and masses and proportions are nice and grotesque. Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see more. - Anwar
Hey TBone, I would suggest making the bug more smooth in appearance as it's legs are getting to busy a takes interest away from the main guy. This would also go for the throne, which could be the insect abdomen wrapped up and around his back, like he carved him out to get a seat:). Looking forward to what you do next, and great job so far!
Clee: yeah man, they're should be some asymmetry in there. ill be working on that. The hands I'm sort of leaving off right now as i develop the rest of him. Work's keeping me busy but I think i'll have more of that done toward the weekend.
meshiah: yeah i hope this latest starts to show more of that contrast.
Mind Traveler: wassup dude!thanks. Glad you entered this year!
Spark: TY! heh, I think maybe this latest update is gonna show even more busy-ness on the bug parts. You are right though. I have a couple ideas to get the interest back on the rider guy. I will work to have something in an update soon.
Valandar: Mojo, hmm.. I gotta do something about that!
notebookguy: uh..thanks?? lol
I like that you have kept the back of the throne and the ends of the insect legs a little simpler, it helps balance the detailed areas you have. Good integration of the polycount logo in the throne too. The base of the insect legs is in danger of being a little over-detailed, but that's a pretty easy fix.
I think his horns could be more massive, and the muscle volumes between the shoulder/bicep/tricep more pronounced. Overall though this is going in the right direction!
Whew, It's late I need some sleep! Here's the latest. Wrapping up the hi res and making the low res meshes over the next couple of days. stay tuned! zzzzzzzzzzzzz....
Real nice man. Im liking all the details going on. How does this guy move again? Im sure youre not done with the girl, as she looks like she needs some refinement to her shapes overall.. Cant wait to see how you pull this one off man.
TY guys! I should've probably mentioned that the succubus girl is still in progress btw. She will be much smaller than him and the plan is to have two of them.
MoP: lol. me likes teh inflates
r4ptur3: thanks!
clee101: thanks dude. theres two of the girls and they are pulling him along.
BC3D: thanks!
MoJo: yeah, i agree. think bright could work, too.
Exitrockstar: yeah the legs haunted me for awhile as i was trying to figure out a look. glad you like them!
konstruct: hehe. cool. thanks!
