Ya, twas one of the best weeks of my life. well good luck to you, we probably didn't meet but it is still cool knowing we were once in the same room :P.
Man when is manley going to release that lecture on color theory though.
thanks guys. more thumbs. still just to loosen up more than anything. not really any attempt at a given direction. will narrow something down over the next few days :
yea the new concepts are great bro, 4 5 and 6 from the 1st sheet and 1 2 3 and 8 from the second I particularly like. And bottom left on the 3rd sheet.
I also like the last guy on your second sketch sheet, the dude with a lot of eyes and some weird horns/tentacles, and looks like he is holding a rifle, but i might be mistaken.
ok, without numbering this will be difficult, but i like the feet on the guy... second character sheet, second row down, first guy #5. Interesting skinny split shin look.
thanks for the comments guys. appreciated. still messing with ideas. that first post block in is starting to look appealing just to meet the criteria of a massive over the top thing. though i'm pretty sure i'd prefer the balance and proportion of a biped. flake. anyway
made a quick sketch tonight and since i'd not done any sculpting for a bit i figured to play with some of those forms in zb :
i agree the proportions are great, the back fins are alittle general dont really read as anything bt the rest is fantastic,,i love the rat skull look it has in the face,,good stuff man

ThatDon. bro. i'd be sitting in a well damp chair if i could be sculpting critters in the days. i'll keep the dream alive. think i might've narrowed my focus down to something worthwhile. will post some sketches of that a little later. for now is another dirty cheapy sculpt i did the other night to have a look at a trollish body type. kinda cartoony maybe. but pretty fun just to get in and push some forms around. thanks for all the replies fella's. wish you all well with your entries :
after a lot of straying and false starts i'm gonna go with developing this. canabalizing a bunch of ideas old and new. not much to look at but. spin :
NEED MOAR HOARN !!
.
all this is blocks / placeholder stuff so. . . get a bunch of armour parts in there and some gear. etc. what i'm not so sure on is the severed head of the felled serpent he has draped across his back ( the two wings here will be wrapped around him like some kind of sash maybe ). he wields the ( eventually ) spiked tail as a weapon in one hand. but dunno whether to make his other arm the head of the beast. have an attachment / gauntlet with the skull head on a vertebrae chain. or have it bound into a kinda sword / staff thing. please let me know quick if any of this sounds knocked off. much time spent second guessing where you might've ripped an idea from somewhere along the way
The concept sounds cool to me, block-in is looking great. I think a forearm/gauntlet piece using the head of the creature sounds like a logical continuation of the idea. The skull could be used for defense, and the tail for offense. It gives him some nice assymetry too.

Ill be watching this one.
Hey you live in wellington, i don't suppose you went to the massive black workshop there?
This guy might look cool with a tail.
Man when is manley going to release that lecture on color theory though.
Good luck dude .
I agree, he needs a counterpoint at the rear. And all those little points and accents to punctuate his shape (still a smoothy mesh, I know)
Go go tacit!
hmm. I might try the same thing.:)
Fount end looks pretty darn cool.
2nd image bottom right take the head and put on the guy in the top left, just a thought
second thumbpage nr 4 and 5
keep it up
dude, everything rocks on this page. The first guy, 4th guy and last guy are delicious.
i really like the first guy on the page that coldkodiak quoted, nice and interesting shape
the one you posted first though is a good start though, all the tentacles/horns/tusks make for some cool possibilities
can't wait to see what you flesh out!
made a quick sketch tonight and since i'd not done any sculpting for a bit i figured to play with some of those forms in zb :
great sense of form and structure going on
