Looks like this ring could use one more hat. Just getting some ideas down for now. I think I'm gonna go for a Puppetmaster / Soul Collector demon. One image for now, more to follow.
The idea is that this demon can control others by using a puppet in their likeness. The puppets are powered by the souls that it keeps in the lantern.
Replies
1. Add the lantern / chamber to the demon's belly.
2. Mask floats above the demon's body in a ghostly mist.
3. a. Multiple masks, each with its own personality that rotate depending on mood / actions.
b. Add a robe or cape that drags on the ground below.
4. a. Thought of using lantern or cage as the demon's head, face made of captured souls.
b. Changed chamber in the demon's belly to more of a furnace-like heavy door.
5. Lantern hangs below the demon on a chain, etc.
Next up:
I'd like to try to come up with some ideas of more armor / costume. I'd also like to integrate the props / costume more into the character. I know it's missing something...
Gotta get a final design hammered out, and then I'll update with a more detailed rendering.
I'm not really liking the more human-looking shapes, but progress is progress.

Jeramy79: I can see where you'd make the connection, but I have other plans for the mask. The current one is just a placeholder for now.

Trying to keep it managable, but maybe in doing so I'm making it boring? Having more time to work this weekend should help...I hope.
I stated in on this bone theme and kind of ran with it. The idea is that depending on what "mode" the demon is in, that mask floats above his body while the other two are held like shoulder armor until they are needed. The puppet is a skeleton that is "charged" with whichever soul the demon needs to control that enemy. The other souls are stored in the lantern until needed.
Here are the mask designs. Each one has a symbol on the forehead that glows, showing which "mode" the demon is in.
1. Souleater - Can drain the souls of recently defeated enemies to store in his lantern.
2. Puppetmaster - Charging the puppet with an enemy soul, he controls a creature of that type on the battlefield.
3. Warpath - Unleashes the power of the stored souls to defeat greater enemies.
Will have the lantern design done tonight and should be able to start the base mesh. Let the C&C bells ring!
