Thanks for the input guys, I tend to agree with your picks. I did some more thumbs. Some of them I kind of knew I wouldn't use, but I drew them anyway for fun.
Really lovely silhouettes and thumbs!!
They all look really good to me, but I might suggest thinking about doing #2 if you said that's the stalker norm. It'd be neat to see, cause i can't think of one other thread that's doing a stalker! (Not that it doesn't necassarily exist, but it must be quite rare)
Tried playing with #11 as a Demon Prince, I think I like it.
Is it within the rules to make one of his arms have fire/light emanating from it like in the guy on the left?
Thanks Mezz, I do rather like #2 as well. I did a stalker for the second Dominance War, and a Warlord for the third, so it occurred to me that I want to do a different class each time.
Thanks Beltann! And it's not a crutch - it's a pimp cane!
Thanks notebookguy.
55Joe - I like 10 as well, but this is for my portfolio more than anything, and I already have a fat guy/creature.
So I'm still playing with the details since he's now a Demon Prince. I changed it so that instead of normal metal armor, the features on his chest/shoulder areas are actually just bone/horn growths coming out of his skin - so it's more like natural/organic body protection. And he has nailed in additional metal plates/armor/modifications on top of that.
great work on that alchemy dude. lol jk, I like your prince but i think his face being kinda chunky makes him feel unintimadating. Makes me think of that Priest guy from Gears of War 2. Keep it coming nuke.
Mesiah - Thanks. I liked 5 as well, but I just didn't feel like modeling him for some reason.
Thanks to everybody else for compliments.
Here's an update:
Still gotta work out more details, like what's gonna be on the cloth covering his lower legs, and of course, his back.
great work man! amazing shadows and detail. Keep it up! There is something about the face I don't like.. but that might be because it reminds me of someone I don't like... lol
Thanks all for comments and crits.
I finally worked on the head/face. Gonna play with it some more, try different details and such.
I also tried something different with the cane, still not sure about it. If I cant decide on something, I'll probably go with the spinal cord looking set up.
I continued lettering these iterations in case someone wanted to reference an aspect of a specific one.
Changed the face so it's more demonic, and not so human. Kinda looks a little Hellboy-ish, which was unintentional. Gonna keep working on different looks.
Tried a few different options to replace the cane.
First one is pretty standard pitchfork, but it could be replaced with any sort of staff/scepter.
Probably wont use the dogs one, but I figured I'd show it anyway. If I did use it, I would have to redo the dogs.
The last one is kind of like an organic sword/hot poker.
Thanks for everybodies input. Looking to hear what y'all think about these, or if you have any other ideas/suggestions.
im loving the trident. i think that is a win. the one horn on the head is awesome. the rest of the head though im not really digging. maybe goof off with that one the next pass. also continuing the mouth theme into the pants (not supposed to sound as dirty as it did) would keep a really cool theme going. even if you just had one kneepad that is a mouth spitting out the lower part of the leg.
The face is looking awesome. I'm torn or which one to go with though. I like the dogs in H, but the pimp cane is classic lol. Maybe one two headed dog like evan suggested and then the cane in the other hand? Just a thought, but I'm sure any of them will look cool.
love the dog idea you know that already, if you dont use it can i have permission to put them in a concept, i need your blessings don't wanna feel like a biter. i like the idea of the trident or some sort of staff like item. You close dude I could feel it. that dude is pretty much solid in many ways, just figure out our accessory dilemma.
im with warnoodle face F has the better look for the character. killer dogs too, perhaps he just needs 1. he looks like hes manly enough to only need a single killer pooch.
I quite like the current face, the gaping hole where a horn used to be is great, and the texture ontop of his skull. I think if you lifted white parts that are his eyes a little higher so they're peering from under his brow a little he'd look a bit more angry/fierce, and give him a bit more character.
Davidskwan - I didn't mean for a hole to be in his head, that's just a shadow, he he. Cool idea though! I took your advice on moving up the eyes, but you probably cant notice, its a subtle change.
So, I was kind of preferring the face on "F" as well, but I still wanted to keep him demonic, so I made sort of hybrid between the two. I think this compromise is my favorite right now.
Here some head stuff I messed with:
I tried making a single 2 headed dog like EvanG said. I was thinking about making them more bulldog-ish, and not so Hyena style after I did this:
I know most people don't dig the cane, but I'm still kind of partial to the one featured in "D" - the spinal cord cane. Keep in mind, I see this guy as more of a War General type - not really a frontlines fighter, so that's why I think the cane fits. Don't know if that changes anybodies opinion, but I hope it makes more sense.
Thanks again guys!
dude, awesome! You can totally go to town with fur. I still love the cane ... especially if he is a general. I'd toss it back in ... but maybe that's just me.
After looking at it, I didn't think he felt intimidating enough with the dog/dogs. I think they kinda take away something from him.
I was about to post this latest update with the usual spinal cord cane, but just at the last minute I quickly copy and pasted the cane to the top, to form a spinal staff. Might go with this one, or a variation of it. I'm pretty sure I prefer it to the pitchfork.
Here's a back view, gonna play around with some different set ups on the lower part near the tail. Not even entirely sure about the tail itself:

Not really sold on any of these, so I'll be doing some more.
11 caught my eye first
10 is also pretty cool fighting monk looking
12 has a neat weapon

I'm kinda leaning towards 11 for now, but still not sure.

Any seem like a good choice though.
Good luck in the competition!

Great! I love it!. Dogs are gone:) and some additional triangles are saved.
Can't wait to see it in 3d.
