Ok,

Total noob question, but here goes.

I just started using Max2009, I am in the process of texturing a model. When I apply a texture to the model, the viewport is displays a very low quality version of the texture. However, when I create a render everything looks fine;

Is there a setting I can adjust to fix this?

The texture shown above is a 1024x1024 24bit Targa, dunno if that makes a difference.
It's (obviously) a low poly model, so I'm not too concerned about slow PC performance if I change settings, etc...

Thanks!

    Go to Customize menu, look for Preferences, then go to the Viewports tab.
    Look for "Direct3D Settings" or something similar, click that and it'll pop up a new window with some settings - set all the "Texture Size" options to 1024 (or highest whatever it is) and click the "match texture size as closely as possible" checkbox.

    That should do the trick.
