I agree with both comments so far. This is a great piece depending on what kind of game you'd be making it for. If you wanted, the armor more than likely have a lot of different pieces to it, i.e. the shoulder pads, maybe the chest armor. It looks solid thought. It would be nice to see the wire frames if you have them.
Morton - if it's not too late and you're still working on it, try making some more interesting silhouettes in the armor: e.g. the shoulder/arm bits - try to give the illusion that those plates are sticking out and properly overlapping
Thank you, I like working on the texture more then I do modeling. It just something I need to work on and get better at. Of course, that is something I will always be doing.
just another high five for that chest plate texture. i agree that the shoulder plates should layer correctly in the silhouette. Also, on the nameplate, as clever as it is, the font seems to be a tad fancy for a basic worn armor set. Something more simple may work with the style a bit better. Just my opinion tho. Again, sweet textures.

I agree, and will be sure to play around with it.
Also, it may take a bit longer for an update as I am going to try to fix the shoulders without messing with the texture to much. Wish me luck.
Alright, time for an update. I tried to use all the advise that was given, but if I missed something or you see something else I might need to fix just tell me.
Nice - I think thats a big improvement. Only thing I can think of that it needs now is perhaps some more wear and tear around the edges - great work tho
I know they told you to change the font before, and this seems like something so minor in comparison to the rest of the piece, but it bothers me because now it looks so computer generated. You have to think if this were authentic, in that time period someone would be hand carving that name into the plate..At least rough it up a little and maybe add some depth to it. Something as little as that can really change something. Other than that its looking better with the improvement, I like the wood textures.

I know what you mean. I played around with it, but could never get it to look the way I wanted, I'll just have to keep trying.
I would pull the edges of the plates out a bit to feed to the silhouette more. Articulated plates probably wouldn't hang so straight. Since you already seemed to separate the geometry for each plate, it might help to rotate each one ever-so-slightly inward to nail the feeling that they are hanging from a frame and it would add some overall weight and more interest to the silhouette. And, you shouldn't have to fudge with the texture to much to make it work.
As far as the nameplate, it might be a good idea to try a serif typeface, it might fit the implied time line of the piece more.
You know the diffuse is good by now, drop a nice spec map and tweak the model some more and this will be a strong piece.

- otherwise nice tex -AND GET THAT SPEC!
What everyone else said basically, just try to push it a little farther and you'll have a cool little piece.
