Best: The Matrix. Watched it again recently, and there's just not a false step in the entire film. Brilliant from start to finish.
Worst: Day Watch. Never before have I seen such an intense contrast of fantastically expensive special effects and absolutely insipid yet convoluted plot.

I dont think the movies listed under worst by most people are really the worst movies or do you guys just not watch a lot of movies? i mean for example matrix 3 has cool effects, hell theres a battle with mechs fighting robots, you have seen nothing worse? I agree that compared to matrix 1 the two others did not live up to.

Butterfly Effect and Pans Labyrinth are in my top 5 for sure, I'd have to think about it.

Yup. Both these films are a complete diservice to the best movie of all time. I couldn't even watch more than 5 minutes of the 2nd one, the third I managed to watch but still sucked.

worst: air strike. the experience is somewhat akin to lighting yourself on fire, then jumping into a pit full of carpet Nails.
I saw this the other day and enjoyed the crap out of it -
Zoms, The slow-motion intro to old Metallica, the slow-motion faceplant when the "buckle your seatbelt" sequence plays and BILL MURRAY with the Ghostbusters bit!

I have lots of best movies cant pick one. Aliens, Predator, Akira, Spirited Away, Matrix, Transformers the original cartoon movie.
Worst, the only one I havent succesfully wiped from memory is Street Fighter the movie the one with Van Damme and Kylie Minogue. Had some of the worst acting and the most rediculous scenes. Like Van Damne exposing to M.Bison that he's friends to this guy thats been captured on tv, which then causes him to be experimented on. Then later on, on a whim, decides to mercy kill Blanka, then gets told off by Dhalsim "Dont do that, its wrong". Thats not mentioning the effects, and it barely had any relation to the game, except perhaps they had the same names and looked a bit like them.

Agree that The Fountain is a contender for the top slot. Oldboy, too.
