For clarification (since I've been getting many different opinions from people) what constitutes a character as being next gen? At the bare minimum, what does the mesh / tex require? I've been understanding it as:
Mesh: 4000 ~ 7000 range (I've heard 10,000 range but isn't that more for fighting games and such?)
Minimum textures
Color
Normal
Spec
All in the 2048 range?
and optionally,
Gloss
SSS (Some people tell me don't bother since some engines don't support it, but it seems like it's preferable with recent engines)
I suppose these will differ depending on the type of game, but I want to know the general guidelines so I can figure out what assets I need to make in my pieces.

add gloss map and glow map if you want.
then it's next-gen!
