3DS MAX 2009 Vista won't activate LEGIT COPY

Ok so I'm trying to install and activate my legit Max 2009 copy. However, after putting in the serial number and clicking on the "connect" button it just goes to a white screen and sits there.
Anyone know of any type of fix for this? I downloaded the hotfix and it really didn't do anything(i don't think it was supposed to but I figured it was worth a shot). I've tried activating the 32bit and 64 bit versions. I've also cleaned out all regedit stuff pertaining to anything Autodesk before installing this version to make sure there aren't any issues.
I also "run as administrator" but it still seems to hang...just curious before I go and call Autodesk am put on hold and then given the run around. While at ILE, trying to activate 3DS max 2008 was a huge hassle...I swear they punish their legit users.
Any help at all would be much appreciated!
