thatgamecompany was founded in the Spring of 2006 by two graduates of the University Southern California Interactive Media MFA program. The games thatgamecompany has created include the award winning indie game Cloud, Best downloadable game of 2008 flOw PS3 and the recently launched title Flower on the Playstation Network.
At TGC (thatgamecompany) our goal is to make video games that communicate different emotional experiences the current video game market is not offering. We encourage innovation and experimentation and believe that our creative games will appeal to new, yet untapped, audiences.
=====About the position=========
thatgamecompany is looking for an experienced environment artist for an original PlayStation3 game via the PlayStation@Network. The ideal candidate is expected to have strong experience in modeling, texturing and real-time environmental effects. He or she has to be flexible with rapid iterations and capable of creating environments evoking unique atmosphere and mood under heavy technical constrains. This position will report to the lead artist, starting early 2009.
Responsibilities
* Work with the lead artist to define an unique art style for the game environment
* Design, create and animate assets that make up an evocative world
* Study and master necessary tools to create real-time visual effects in the game
* Come up with ideas for tools that improve the art pipeline
Requirements
* Share the vision of thatgamecompany and have a passion for gaming
* 3+ years experience in creating video game & digital art
* Efficient in low polygon modeling & particle effects
* Experienced in organic modelling and have experience in alternative art styles other than realism
