Rock/Cliffs thread or tutorial?

Hey people.

I remember seeing some thread about making rocks/cliffs here but I cannot find it. Anyone know where it's hiding? Or have any good tutorials?

I am using Maya, but any tips for whatever 3D app is welcome.
