Breaking up a blueprint

Hey guys, whats the best way to break up a blueprint to use as a guide in max, here is the image:
http://www.the-blueprints.com/index.php?blueprints/cars/datsun/225/view/datsun_160_j_violet_a_10/

i thought acuracy wouldnt matter so i just chopped it into 4 un even images....needless to say fail.

unless theres options in ALT + b i can change for this to work?

You can just cut it up in photoshop... Or you can just apply it to 3 different planes and adjust the UVs for each plane so that it uses a different view in the blueprint.

Is accuracy not a concern?, cause i did cut it up in photoshop, but they didnt all line up, which made it hard to model

Ive gone for the unwrap aproach, but in the viewport the texture is all yuck, and it will be hard to work with, but when i render its fine, is there a way to increase the quality of the viewport texture?

Some do, and some don't. I just model something easy like a tire and use that to line up the blueprints in all views. In case of the car make a cylinder and try to get the front, and back view to line up as best you can. You can also do this in photoshop. Also make sure the different views are the same size...

if you're using the ALT+B background options for setting an image, you'll need to make sure they're all the same size and resolution, otherwise the scales won't match.

Yeah im using unwrap, its easier to line them up and i cant always quickly adjust later, but how to i increase texture quality in the viewport?

do yourself a favour and make sure they line up in ps using guides.

you can increase the viewport texture resolution in the preferences/viewports/configure driver and check both Match Bitmap Size... boxes

Ya, when you're cutting it up, just make sure that the widths and heights of the images you make are the same. i.e. the height of the image for the front and side views should be the same, and the bottom of the tire should be the same # of pixels up from the bottom.

The width of the Front and the height of the Top view should match, and you should find something else to index off of (mirror maybe)

Then the width of the Top and Side should be the same, and again, find something else to index from (bumper maybe?)

Then, create your planes, ensuring that their dimensions match eachother, and when you apply your textures, they should all line up.
