i have the same portfolio format a good way to get rid of that image crop is to delete the whole right sidebar in the template.

Tried to adjust the blog but I apparently am not cool enough to figure it out... sooo Ill just make sure to get my site up sooner.

I put up a couple flats as examples of flats, the horse body is a variant I did.

These are really nice man...I really dig the painterly look you gave to the textures. Looks like you have a lot of unused texture space though. Is that intentional or are you just showing us the maps in layers?!?

Thanks. Theyre in layers essentially the uvs were set for our generic 'horse' so I worked from those. When youre doing mmo work there are lots of times where ease of swapping and layers become just as if not more important than the texture usage space. We try to make it as efficient as possible but sometimes it can look sloppy taken out of context

haha...I figured you did that for a reason but that definitely makes sense. I've never worked on an mmo so didnt even realize that was a common thing to do. I appreciate the explanation...keep up the awesome work ;-)

I love the style of your work! Particularly like the armoured horse model and texture. Double thumbs up :thumbup::thumbup:

Only thing I would change is the background colour of the texture so that when it alphas on the edges it's comes out darker:



Looks amazing tho - have you got normal and specular maps for the models you posted here?

@ NZA - I used a black and white alpha to get quick renders of these, I normally use a darker background or a bit more padding in the textrue for alpha stuff. I was just in a rush to get these up. But thank you for noticing =P now I have to go re-render them lol.

@Yozora - how so? I know theyre a bit shiny and dirty but what is catching your eye?

@ Nyne - Haha yeah you would be amazed at some of the weirdness that comes with mmo-land. Its a fun challenge though.

eh? Not talking about shininess or dirt, I just find it odd that 2 peoples faces got ripped off their heads and then attached to that area of the saddle Just my personal art taste I guess.

The work itself is good, generally when I post in a thread its because I like what I see, but I only type what I dont like about it because praising is boring.

@Yozora - Its all good I was just curious what your thoughts were. Im all about the crits, only way to get better. The faces are based on the concept I was working from, I can understand the thought though. The chaos mount is basically ridden by the ultimate evil badasses, and they like trophies.. especially dwarf and elf faces

@ NZA - I have specs for these and tints but we didnt do normals on Warhammer. Ive been working on the basics of Zbrush in my spare time though so hopefully Ill have something to show thats more worthy soon.
