About our company
Naughty Dog is the developer of critically acclaimed and top-selling titles including the Crash Bandicoot franchise, Jak and Daxter franchise and Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. Were a relatively small team with a highly decentralized and collaborative work environment we value feedback about any aspect of our game development from any of our team members. [/FONT][FONT="]Effects/Dynamics Artist [/FONT]
[FONT="]Responsibilities:[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Breaking-up environment geometry and running Maya dynamic simulations of their destruction.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Preserving existing UV information and generating new UVs as needed after fragmenting the geometry.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Creating and animating particles for destructible objects and other effects.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Ensuring that dynamic effects run within established game-engine operating parameters, and scaling level of detail as needed to accomplish this.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Working in other disciplines in down-time, such as prop modeling, texturing, or particles.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Providing feedback to tools programmers and coordinating efforts with other dynamic artists to streamline methods and improve efficiency.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Working closely with designers to fine-tune the timing of complex interactive dynamic effects.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Creating cloth motion simulations, and fine tuning them for aesthetic effect.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Coordinate with background artists to seamlessly integrate dynamic effects into environments.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Setting up objects for real-time destructibility.[/FONT]
[FONT="]Requirements and Skills:[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Extensive experience working with Maya dynamics, including cloth.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Proficiency with Maya modeling and UV tools.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]3 to 5 years of Video Game or Visual Effects dynamics experience[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Particle experience in Maya or equivalent software.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Mel scripting experience a plus.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Havok experience a plus.[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Must be willing to take a dynamics test, and provide samples or a demo reel showing applicable experience.[/FONT]
