Showing your work in Unreal...expensive?

How are you guys posting all these pics with your work in the unreal engine? Is it free for artists, or do you all own it? Isn't it very, very expensive?

meh, its not that expensive nowadays, just by the latest epic/unreal game (the latest unreal tournament, gears of war) and it normally comes wiht the editior/engine...

in auz it cost me $80 for a brand spanking new unreal tournament, so by now it should've lowered in price (doubly so for anyone out of oz).

Yeah, i picked up collectors edition for £17 in uk so a pretty good bargin there. CAme with all those tut vids for the editor too.

i bought Unreal 3 Collectors Edition from a bargain bin for about $20 USD, just for the editor. It's cheap. Any artist can afford that.

Roboblitz is also using an older engine, so if you really want to keep upto date as far as retail goes, Unreal Tournament 3 has the newest engine to mod from. Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway also shares a newer engine as well as a few others that may have the modding tools available.
