In Mudbox, I used to be able to import multiple objects exported as one file, and then subdivide them individually. Like say, I only want 2 subdivisions on object 1, and 3 subdivisions on object 2. How do you do this in Zbrush? I tried assigning my objects to polygroups, and trying to subdivide by hiding the one I don't want to divide. But, when it subdivides, it's not smoothing. It's subdividing as if the Subdivide Smooth Modifier is deactivated, when it's not. I even tried masking out the entire object I don't want, and subdividing the other one, but the same thing happens. It subdivides, but is not smoothing. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or how to do this?

(if you want all your subtools back in one single mesh again, you should get Subtool Master plugin and use the merge function)
