I put some Polyboost tools (align horizontal/vertical, mostly) in my uvw quad-menu, and apparantly they only work on single objects, not 2009's multi-object unwrap. Any way around this, or any great scripts that can do this?
I'm a max-noob (especially when it comes to customisation), so I thought I'd poke the green collective and see if anything usefull'd turn up.

Crappy work around(s):
- You can select a few verts, and in the lower U V W type in boxes type 0 or 1 and it will flatten that selection to either the left right top or bottom, depending on if you put a 1 or a 0 in U it will smash it left or right. V1 is up, V0 is down.
- Select a few verts and switch the UVW scale option to up/down or left/right and scale the selection until the all align.
- Join everything and unwrap it as one object, using whatever scripts you want then detach each piece.
- Pester other script writers to update their scripts.

James Haywood has align scripts but they only work on verts, don't work on multi select unwraps and haven't been updated since 07 (max9)

Neil Blevins, I don't think he created UV align scripts, but its probably something he can tackle, but working at Pixar I'm sure they have minions that carefully flatten their UV's by hand, vert by painful vert.

Bobo the maxscript God, might be open to a new pet project, probably would take him 10min tops... But probably beneath him.

those commands in the link are essential to some align scripts that I wrote perhaps even for other scripts by other users.
